Anybody watch the Jordan thing last night? I did not. Listening to the talking heads today the debate is who is the best of all time. Jordan or James. For me it’s Jordan hands down, not even debatable.

Fortunately we have no debate in hockey. The greatest player to ever strap on skates is Gretzky.

I have lived through the careers of really great players in their sports.

Same for me with Jordan and I think this documentary is going to prove it to everyone.

Agreed completely. The Bulls were the laughing stock of the league when he showed up which is rarely understood by many fans.

The guy won 6 NBA titles in 8 years with far from star-studded teams, and the two years he didn’t win it were during his prime when he left the league to play baseball shock

There’s not a doubt in my mind that the guy could’ve won 8 in a row.

“ when he left the league to play baseball ”.

Or was he suspended for gambling??? Did the mob hit his dad???

    Lots of conspiracies

I’m gonna take heat for this one, yes Jordan has the better “legacy” but James is the clear better player. Just my .02

It’s a tough call but I think a lot of it is who you grow up watching…and for that reason Jordan gets my pick!

Did you see Jordan play or are you just going by the numbers or what you see of James?

    Not arguing, just wondering.

The game is so different now. To be “great” all you have to do is spread the floor and go 1-1 with a guy who doesn’t give two sh*&^ about playing defense.

I’d love to see Lebron go up against that 86 Celtic team who may have had the best D of any team in history. Jordan put up 49 in the first game of the series. The Celtics said they’d put everything in his way to stop him. What does he do the next night? GOES FOR 63!

It’s tough to say, but for me a guy that put up the numbers he did back when the league still played defense will get my vote every day of the week.

Lew Alcindor – Gordie Howe. Gretzky couldn’t fight his way out of a wet paper bag. Gretzky/Broten fight had very low ratings. grin

I forgot to give Gretzky extra credit for the nice offspring. I’ll change to Wayne.

I did get to watch Jordan for a few years. You can’t compare the 2. Jordans game was on an entirely different level. James flourishes by being one of the biggest/strongest guys to play his position. He literally out muscles most guys trying to guard him. Jordan seemed to use more talent and less size.

Only 2 athletes in my lifetime that when they were dialed in were unbeatable. Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods.

Games/matches were over before they began when they were both in their prime. No one else compares.

How about when Jordan dropped 63 points AT Boston Garden against what Larry Bird admitted was the “best team he ever played on and maybe the best of all time” consisting of x4 Hall of Fame players?

There’s not one other basketball player in the history of the sport that you could put on those Bulls teams that would’ve carried them to x6 championships. For those who argue about LeBron James, he’s done a majority of his damage with multiple all stars around him in a league that is much softer and caters to longer careers and less physicality. Jordan had Pippen and the rest was a collection of extremely average NBA talent…on their best night.

Dutchy I saw today that when Gretzky retired he held or shared 61 NHL records and now 20 years later holds or shares 60. Don’t quote me on the numbers but it’s something like that. Lost 1 in 20 years

I have a hard time voting for Jordan over James. Jordan had a powerhouse team built around him for the entire time with the Bulls. James did too with the Heat and Lakers, but he has still won even with his Cavalier teams. Just look at his consecutive run of NBA Finals appearances. Some of those Cavs teams weren’t even as good as the current Timberwolves.

Gretzky himself said he wouldn’t have made it to the NHL in the old days before over expansion.

Best all time I’d have to say Howe or Orr.

    What’s “Basketball” ?
