Hi all, what’s the current top solution for spoon storage? Like most, I’ve gotten to the point with my regular boxes where each compartment has 5+ spoons in it and grabbing something new turns into swear words. Are the Fishmore boxes still the solution?

December 29, 2024 at 9:33 am #2307303I am in this same dillema, after I want to spend a 30 dollar fleet farm gift card and came out with 200 more in spoons I got home to realize I have so many spoons and want them organized better. Not sure why I need so many. The damn pinhead minnows is a do all and the only thing I’ve need for spoons in a while.
December 29, 2024 at 10:08 am #2307308The clam boxes with slit pieces of foam are the best I’ve used. I can get maybe 30 spoons in a box and they never tangle or touch eachother. I can get 3 of them in the bottom of my rod box.
In a half dozen outings I’ve probably used 6-7 different spoons. Just like crankbaits…I go back to the same half dozen proven winners more often than not.
BrittmanPosts: 2094December 29, 2024 at 10:23 am #2307313Why do I have so many dang spoons? I like two of each (at least) because if one gets hot and breaks off I have another to quickly tie on or can hand one over to my son … and vice versa.
Last two winters I have had more success with ripp’n vertical “shad” lures. They take up even more space than most of the spoons.
Still storing in those mini plastic tackle boxes.

This is also what I do. Pinheads in one, kastmaster in another. Everything else in a tangled mess because they don’t get used like the pinheads and kastmasters do.
December 29, 2024 at 4:03 pm #2307349Are Clam boxes any better than when they 1st were on the market? I saw them back then and was going to buy one but 3 of the 4 on Cabelas shelf had a busted plastic latch.
I bought foam and a Plano with pro latches and made my own.December 29, 2024 at 4:17 pm #2307353Are Clam boxes any better than when they 1st were on the market? I saw them back then and was going to buy one but 3 of the 4 on Cabelas shelf had a busted plastic latch.
I bought foam and a Plano with pro latches and made my own.Simple and easy. Where did you buy the light foam from ?

I just watched a video on YouTube. Can’t believe i hadn’t seen this before. Lady friend said she’ll go to Micheal’s and get the foam tomorrow.

December 29, 2024 at 8:53 pm #2307461This is what I do with my big spoons. Do similar with my smaller spoons just in a shallower box.

I thought so. The other boxes posted above in the links seem to have been big daredevil spoons and crank boxes.
BrittmanPosts: 2094December 30, 2024 at 9:44 am #2307572The Clam box or similar, then glue a 1/4″ strip of foam to the cover so when you close the top the foam holds the spoons in place. Works great.
