I havent fished spirit many times in the morning. More at night and has done really well right at dark and after dark. But i havent fished it since last weekend cuz we have been also fishing a southern minnesota lake.

One of my buddies fished it thursday night from a dock and he said they caught alot of walleyes but never caught one over 13 or 14 inches. and he said the may flies were extremely bad.

Heading to Spirit Monday. Whats the best way to catch the ‘eyes this time of year? Trolling cranks? are they out deep or in shallower? Any tips would be awesome thanks!

During the day you will have your best luck in deeper water. Both live bait and cranks will work good.

They tend to go to deep water during the daylight hours. During high visibility periods, walleye may be found as deep as 50 feet or more.

Spirits only 22 ft deep and is essentially a big bowl!
