Hey guys. My Dad, Brother and I went up to Spirit yesterday morning to try out our new Tracker Targa 17 foot boat, and had decent luck for 3 and a half hours of fishing. We started drifting from a ways out back to the foot bridge, and on my first line out, wham, got a nice 1lb to a 1lb. and a half smallie. My dad got a couple 12 inch walleyes, but being inexperienced with the new boat, decided that the wind and white caps won and we left for the south east end.. Put in at Hales Slough and trolled between there Stoney Point and caught 6 sub legal eyes and then the rains came and that was the end of our day. I love the Spirit Lake area and cant wait to go back. We learned alot about the new boat (we had a 91 Lund 16′ tiller), and caught some fish. More than I can say for today at Brushy Creek 
, Im really starting to dislike that lake. Very hard to fish, but It will get better. Steve Strain.
