Saturday and Sunday had weather changing contantly. Fished the west side off Buffalo Run. Used 3/8 Lindy Snagless and red # 4 with minnows. Lots of small fish. I switched over to Mack’s Spinners and bottom bouncers to see if any bigger fish could be triggered. This was the ticket and was able to connect with 3 fish in the 16 and 17 inch range. Lost a 25″ fish at the boat. Pays to check your knots for abrasion. I had re-tied the Mack spinner componets with fluro carbon. Do not know if this had any impact. I like Macks due to being able to slow down the presentation but still get a spin with the mylar wing spinner. I was using large leeches with a single red hook #6 on the Macks. Stayed in the 16 and 17 foot range. Any deeper or shallower and no fish. Hit the bigger fish on slight humps in this depth range.
