Spinning Reel – Need some input

So today my wife, sons and I made the pilgrimage to see John at The TUCR shop. We ended up ordering three new custom bullwhips (one for each of my sons and one for my wife) that will be paired with a Shimano Sienna 500s. John is building a custom DS that is getting paired with an Okuma Baitrunner 20 Series, and I also ordered my wife a custom Precision… the Precision that I bought two seasons ago was paired with a Shimano Sedona 500, and I love the reel – however, I can’t seem to find any Sedonas in anything smaller than a 1000. Any suggestions for a reel that would pair well with her new Precision?

Will do. Do you recommend sticking with the smaller reel or jumping up to the 25? I like the smaller reels on my panfish rods, but I guess I never really gave it much thought when it comes to the Ps and Commander…

    Hey bneal-

Thanks for the tip! When Gander was running all of their blowouts I bought 6 of the Siennas for just over $50 from the La Crosse store. Kinda felt like Christmas in May…

For me it all comes down to how I intend to use the rod. If the rod is going to be used for panfish or walleye where I really don’t need much line capacity the Ceymar C-10 works great. However if I want the versatility to be able to fish Lake Trout or Pike with that rod where I know I’m going to need thicker diameter line and more line capacity that’s when I upsize to a larger real.

Thanks James. Her rod will predominantly be used for walleye, but I have a Commander that just might need a 25. I appreciate the input!

I’m putting a Pflueger President 25 on my commander as well, I grabbed a 30, but think that’s too big.
