We pulled up to a spillway recently and to say the least, we weren’t feeling very good about it…Both Cheyenne and I sat there scouting the water, and after about 3-4 minutes, we saw a small fish rise.
The spillway wound up being VERY ACTIVE and LOADED with trout! We got into several species, including a big brown trout and SPLAKE🎣🎣 We fished the morning bite and had a lot of action up until mid morning, then the bite really started shutting off. Trout were caught using several different presentations; including the TBH gummy crane fly nymph, HD Trout from Dynamic Lures, and 2″ micro minnow swimbaits.
This was a fun switchup video for us, as we have only fished one spillway ever on the channel. Lots of fun action on a crisp Fall morning! Hope you enjoy the pictures and action🎣🎣🎣
