Not wanting to go with live scope looking for something less expensive that provides the tools needed for Spider rigging need one that provides speed for sure

Garmin uhd93. I have no idea what tools are needed for spider rigging, but the garmin is reasonably priced, and has decent maps, good side imaging and down scan.

    Need a little more information.
Are you truly spider rigging? That’s using 8 rods and trolling? Then you’d be better off with something with a good GPS and map chip. The rods are 10 -14ft out in front of you, so by the time structure goes under your transducer it’s too late, your bait is passed. Also probably want something you can mount up front on your trolling motor. This can let you see structure sooner. Also make sure it has a wide angle transducer (cone). Let’s you see more bottom in shallow water.
Are you sitting up front by yourself or double seating it? If double up you want a bigger screen.
Sideimaging is a big plus. You can make a pass, mark the structure, then make another pass actually fishing the structure.
Here in Iowa you can only legally have 3 rods per person, so “spider rigging” is modified a litle bit.
