I’ve been feeling like my SI imaging hasn’t been as clear as it could be and have thought messing around with the speed setting might clear things up a bit. Am I way off on this?

If you are talking about adjusting your scroll speed, you are right on. Setting that to best match up with your boat speed will result in the best images. I’ve found a scroll speed of about 6 works well when I am scanning structure around 4-5 MPH.

Yeah, that’s exactly what I am talking about. This unit is on my bow so I would probably going max 2.5-3 mph.

I set it to just above my speed. So if traveling at 3mph, I’ll set it at 4.

As I us my SI for finding fish I could care less what the bottom looks like or really what is down there, I usually run my SI at 8-10 boat speed does not matter as it will elongate fish and make them and there shadows stand out much better. I usually always have up my SI setting`s up on my screen as I can adjust as needed when transitioning from hard to soft bottoms or depth. If you want pretty pictures matching boat speed to scroll speed works good.
