Agter a few years of cotemplating wether or not to try a few, I think that I am ready to give a few tourneys a try this year. My question is-does anyone know of a few tournaments that would be good tournaments to start off fishing in? I am looking for something in the western WI area if possible. Even just something like a weekly bass league? Let me know if you have any info! Tight lines!

I am from River Falls. I am willing to fish within around 1.5 to 2 hours away. Even on the Mississippi. It doesn’t have to be big, just something to start at.

I know there are a few here in fountain city pool 5 on the mississippi river in the fall. We have fountain city days usually the 2nd weekend in august which if I remember is about 100 dollars and they pull about 50 bass guys and if thats just a little too pricy there is the club midway tourny out of fountain city also the 1st weekend in september that is only 40 dollars with a great pot luck meal after the fishing day.

Ha… I was just joking about tainter, but go for it. They usually have tournaments on Wednesday nights at Jakes supper club from 6 to 9 pm. They were only $5 bucks per person, multi-species, so not exactly a strictly bass tourney.

Supposedly there were thursday night tournaments open to the public in winona on the local pools, but maybe someone who has done those can comment.

There are a few NBAA division in Wisconsin. NBAA Wisconsin There are also a couple divisions in Iowa. I know they have a two day on the Mississippi. NBAA Iowa I’m not real familiar with that area up there. The NBAA is a national organization with no entry fee national championships. The NBAA has been growing a lot the last few years. If you don’t see a division where you want to fish we would sure welcome some new directors.
