    Today was my final day….

And in typical South Minneapolis fashion, it was a struggle. Pulled up to the Ramp, City docks are out. But I was ready with Tow Rope, etc.

What is was not ready for was the guy and his buddy, parked in the ramp to talk, along the shore of the lake. When I asked them if they could “move”? I was met with a response that I was not quite ready for – ” Can’t you go around?”

    Really…………

So I said, “Ah, No” and the guy proceeds to tell me that he is not going to move his car.

Well, the Dog had his fun and needless to say, the car and two fellas that think they are the center of my world, realized that they are not.

Bass Fishing was deep and slow.

Caught 4 nice fish – all dead sticking jigs and senkos in about 10 feet of water. Not that much fun so I packed it in at 4 PM and put the boat in the garage.

Thought to myself, that might be the end of my open water season.

I have run into this at a ramp before, more with people parked in the trailer spots without trailers. There are plenty of single spots 20 feet away. Why can’t common sense be more prevalent? Why?

Why not head on down to pool 2 and keep fishing? If you can fish plastics for bass you can fish them for walleyes. You got a lot better shot at a 10 lb fish.

You know what they say, “you can’t fix stupid” It’s amazing how many inconsiderate people there are out there. Hopefully they learned a lesson from you.

Spill Dog! Funny, I was about to pitch a fit last weekend, guy beached in the landing, then pulls his truck down the ramp nose in. Right before I opened my mouth, realized they were jumping the boat. Yeah, not the best planning, but I gave them a break. And a battery to get started!

with that logic, you ought to leave the walleyes along and chase carp…more, bigger…better athletes…

The logic Mr. Becker is that walleyes will keep biting consistenly year round on the river (unlike carp and bass). I don’t ever hang it up for the season.

now now Mr. Drewsdad…the point I apparently focussed on was the ‘shot at a 10 pound fish’…

and it’s true: I would fish for walleye…but only as a last resort… I have never ‘bought into’ the idea that walleye is that great of a fish…especially if you come from the directon of ‘catch/release’…

and to follow up…I appreciate that folks all have their ‘favorite’ species to target…and that this becomes a ‘chevy/ford’ discussion…and not one to get too serious over…

If, however, I have trod too heavily on deeply/passionately held beliefs and offended any of the ‘kicker motor’ crowd…

    uh…sorry?
