I just got the fourth reel in my quest to find a reel to replace my old green meanies (old Curados).

I’ve decided to standardize on 7:1 Gear Ratio Reels.

I have a Daiwa Zillion, a Shimano Curado D, an Abu Garcia STX and just aquired a Shimano Curado E7.

I haven’t put the new Curado through its paces yet but in initial casting, I’m impressed. So far, the Zillion tops my list, followed by the Curado E7, the Revo STX then the Curado D.

I also picked up a Shimano Stradic C4. This should be interesting, the Palidin Gears and an ultralight body. Hopefully a good combo, maybe I can go back to Shimano. I absolutely love my Daiwa Hard Bodyz but they are heavy. Toughest reels I’ve ever used though and smooth as can be…

I just bought the Shimano Stradic C4 and have used only once. So meeeting my expectations. Very lite weight!

Looks like a good spead of reels.

I’m a Shimano guy, so I put up with the good and bad of Shimano reels.

Just ordered a couple of the new Caenan. Looks to be a top pick in the under $100 category.

The best thing about Shimano is it’s mostly good. I just wish they would have came out with the E7 Curados first because I probably wouldn’t have tried anything else. Now I’ve tried a Zillion and man are they nice…but spendy…

I can’t wait to try one of those, let me know how it holds up…

I have 5 Shimano Curado E7 and they are on their second year and are the best baitcasters that I have owned.

I think the 7:1 gear ratio for the Curado came out before the 7.1:1 gear ratio for the Zillions. Maybe the Shimano bias in me overlooked that. I’d wish the Chronarch D7’s came out at the same time. I would prefer the smooh finish body style. Costs more money, but two Curados and two Citica’s would almost equal two Chronarchs. For now, I’ve got ABEC 7 bearings upgraded on the Curado E’s.

I’ve been Big on the Revo STX for the last 2 years. However Some of them are starting to act up some. So now I have to ? the durability of them. I to loved the old curado’s ( Still have a few going strong after more than 10 years ) The E7 is going to be my next purchase. I’ve never been a Diawa fan in the past. i may have to give in and give them another try as well.
