I’m trying to learn a thing or two about buzzbaits. What kind of buzzbaits do you like(color, company ect). Also what set up do you throw them on and what kind of line do you use. I don’t know a lot so any advise would be appreciated.

Well first off there are a million differant things a buzzbait can posess. Blade style, color, head size, wire material, clacker or no clacker.Tandem blades and in-line blades. Some run straight others dont. I dont personally have a favorite brand but as long as it churns and throws alot of water I’ll stay with it. I like to tweek all my buzzbaits. First if it doesn’t pop enough i’ll bend the blades to create a bigger cup. Then i’ll bend the wire twice by the head so it runs deeper and will result in better hook ups. I like a gold blade/black skirt and all white seems to work for me. As for gear i like a MH fast action rod, high gear ratio reel and 50lb braid. Youll have to experiment to see what works for you. Hopefully this helps, Dan

A few buzz bait tricks that I’ve used. Remove the rivet and ruff it and the blade that spins against it with sandpaper – This makes it squeal and seems to attract more bites. On new Buzzbaits I also hold them out the window of the truck while driving down the road. This helps to break them in and spin more freely. I fish mine on a 7″ Med. action rod with 12Lb. test Mono. I think the added strech allow the fish a little longer to get ahold of the bait before you set the hook.

I like the ones with a clicker. Booyah makes some that I like.

I like Booyah the best because of its sound, but mostly because it runs perfectly straight, a lot of buzzbaits ive used run a little bit left or a little bit right. Best colors for me have been all black or all white
