By the time bass opener happens bass will most likely be post spawn. I saw surface water temps 67 degrees in northern metro yesterday !!

Your bath water does not count.

I’ve been meaning to stop by a certain man-made pond by my house to see if I saw any nesters. For all I know, I might be too late.

This early warm weather is really going to mess with fishing this year. I’m not sure if it is going to help or hurt it. We may just end up with a longer mid summer pattern type of bite. I guessing with the early ice out and warmer than average temps that we will see some of the best weed growth that we have had in a long time. As far as the spawn goes I think you are right. We most likely will be way past the main spawn. A friend of mine said that in Northern Wisc. that he was already seeing some bedding activity. It sure should be a interesting year. Best of luck to everyone!!!

oh that is going to mess with the sight fisherman. they won’t be able to fish for them until they are post spawn and even early summer paterns. most fisherman will either adjust to much ahead or not far enough ahead.

I caught a 4-12 largmouth in a tournament yesterday that had a bloody tail and had spawned out. We had 4 fish that had bloody tails weighed in.

That was on pool 13 of the mississippi

Up here in Central MN I don’t know water temps, but I know the fish got backed up big time with last weekends rain and all the wind we had for a few days. It’s been cooler this week. I don’t think to many bass around here will be spawning with this full moon.
