Just got back from my annual winter pilgrimage south in search of warm weather, open water and big bass. Fished with Tom Redington again this year and as always had a great time. Tom is an excellent teacher- rarely do you go more than a couple minutes without some teaching point re bass migration, lure selection, or some other tip. His sense of humor is top notch and he is a great guy to spend a day or 3 in the boat with. As per my luck, ne texas had a 2 week warming trend that ended the day I got there. We never saw the sun, it was 48-50 day 1, 38-40 and rainy day 2 and 28-32 day 3. My biggest was 7-5, throw in a couple 6 lb and a handful of 4-5 lb fish and that was it. It was extremely slow for us and the other boat (singular) on the water. It wasnt as cold as January 08 but it was close..
I highly recommend this cure for cabin fever as even on slow cold days the thought of a lunker on the next cast keeps you going all day and the trip ends too soon every year. Give Tom a call, im or email to get hooked up.
Good luck at the red river FLW Tom! JJ
