Just got back from El salto. TIME OF MY LIFE! 100 plus bass per day. A TON of fish between 4-6lbs. Had one over seven, three over 8, and one 10lb-1oz monster! Every day the fish wanted something a little different but for the most part we fished wacky rigged senkos, texas and carolina rigged lizards, rattle traps, and some spinnerbaits when it was cool in the mornings. An amazing reasonably priced trip for the amount of fun. The fish with me in the red is the ten. The other two were 8’s

we stayed at el salto lodge. $1400 dollars covered pick up in mazatlan sunday at noon, fishing sunday afternoon, all day mon-fri, and half day sat before they take you back to mazatlan. It also includes your lodging at the lake, three meals a day, and open bar. Addintional expenses were: 15 dollar tips a day for you guide per person, 15 a day for kitchchen staff, hotel room in mazatlan sat night. And airfare. We flew on a suncountry charter out of minneapolis and I think tickets were just under 400. Whole trip was like 2200. you can set it up for as many days as you want though. 7 days was a beating on my body. My forearm was so sore from setting the hook.

this is on my bucket list…and yeah, that $$$ is not chump change…but for a week in Mexico? Prett standard…

Is there a swimming pool there at the lodge?

You’re going to need a skin graft on your thumb from lipping all those fish.
