Hey Kyle. I believe they are ceramic rings with Silicon Carbide rings. I will check on it for sure and let you know.

I just got my first two Savvy rods last week. I got a 733 and a 734. Wow, I am really impressed with the quality, feel and balance for just $169.

Hey Ken – long way from Cali

Thanks for the update – My new DX795 FLIP came in a week/half ago and I love it

I got my DX795 flip a couple weeks ago and I found that it may very well be the best swimbait rod I’ve used yet! I haven’t even used it flipping and I’m already thinking I might need another one.

I have a 735c also. Don’t know if you ever throw frogs, like the Snag Proof frog for example. If you do then put 50 pound braid on that 735 and try a frog on it this summer. It handles big fish real good in heavy cover.

the new Dobyns Savvy series of rods are priced between $149.99 – $169.99, and feature Kigan guides with stainless steel frames and alconite inserts.

The Champions come equipped with Kigan SS frames, ceramic rings, and SIC “O” rings.

I’ve got 3 Dobyn’s championship series rods and so far they are great. Have a 7 foot glass cranking rod, 7’3″ pitching rod, and a 7 foot ML spinning rod.
