Im looking into buying a new rod for flippin/pitchin. I’m debating between the 7′ 6″ pitchin model and the 7′ 11″ flippin model of the St. Croix Mojo Bass series. Just seeing what your guys’ thoughts are between the two. Thanks for the help fellas .. I appreciate it!

7’11” is a bit big for my liking.

I dont pitch very often but when I do I love to use my 7′ St. Croix Legend tourney MH. You can really control the jig and make some very accurate casts. Its super sensitive and you can feel every tick with it. I know its a bit more expensive but worth it. Like Nic said you dont need those long poles. I dont know how much weight you usually use but I never go over 1/2 oz so thats why the MH is plenty. Hopefully this helps, Dan

I have the 7’6″ Mojo Flippin rod. My only complaint is that its not telescoping. Everything else performs great.

I run a 7’11” shimano crucial flippin’ stick it is a medium heavy with an extra fast tip. I am only 5’4″ tall and I absolutely love it. The price tag is a little steaper but it comes with a lifetime warranty so it is worth the extra cash. I have enough power in that rod to set the hook on a 5 pound bass in the thickest cabbage I have ever fish and flip the pig in the boat. Check it out, you won’t be dissapointed.

I have both St Croix Mojo’s and the 7-11 swimbait rod has an extra long handle which I have a problem with. I love the action but the handle catch’s on clothing etc. In fact I have a friend of mine shortening the handle. The Mojo flippin rod is an awesome rod. You won’t be disappointed.

Depends what you are flipping into – Here in the Twin Cities we have alot of milfoil. Big jigs need a big rod and heavy braid. It is fun sticking it to a TOAD and swinging them into the boat like they are bait!!!!

Cabbage – you can get away with a 1/2 oz jig and smaller stick
