Spent the weekend with a large group camping in Dexterville, Wis which is located in Wood County. I have fished the area a few times but this time I grabbed the gazetter and went to a few out of the way places. There are a ton small flowages used by the cranberry companys to flood the bogs in the fall. I found a few that I was able to launch my boat from. Most you need a canoe or small flat to access them. Most are full of wood and pads with places that had big floating bogs. The water in these lakes are dark due to the soil. We started out throwing spinnerbaits the first morning with not much luck. Then I grabbed a top water frog and the game was on. The frog never came off the rest of the trip. My cousin Dave joined me in the boat and he was good company. He’s from Illinois and doesnt get to fish areas like this very often. He had an awesome time and couldn’t of been happier. Most of the fish came off little pockets right next to the bogs. When they hit they just exploded on it. Heres a few picks from the weekend. Most of the fish were 17″ or so with the biggest one going 21″. Dan
