I had a tourney there last weekend ( Did not do well ) A lot of the smallies were still shallow. Some were still on beds and others were just up crusing. I missed the shallow bite and tried to find a deep water pattern. For what I heard at weighin almost any larger rock you found had a nice smallmouth on or near it. I’m not sure if the bedding bite will hold up till next weekend with the fastly warming water but there may still be a few on beds. Keep in mind that they bed rather deep on this lake ( 7-9 FOW ) These bedding fish will take almost any plastic you throw at them. I know a lot of guys were fishing texas rigged tubes and other we useing a dropshot. We did manage a few deeper fish. Pick almost any flat and look for where it breakes into deep water the fastest – Fish those breaks and you should find some smallies. There are 2 rock points on the NW side of the lake that have a long line of marker buoy’s on them. I’d fish those hard in the morning as well. I’m not sure if you will find a hot topwater bite but I’d have one ready in case you see some activity. We did see a little topwater activity last weekend but not much. Good luck and let us know how you do.
