Weekend Metro Area Bass Report

Ran out to the local Pond and had a fair day in the milfoil. The cutter has been out on Harriet and makes for some confusing fishing for a few days. Lots of Musky Follows but none hit. I think they are bewildered when their house gets turned inside out. The Bass Fishing was so-so.

Off to Calhoun on Sunday. WTF – the landing had a pile of sand right in the middle of it. Talk about a momentum killer at 5AM!!!!!

Turned around and went to get the little tin boat. Good thing and the fish on Calhoun were “on fire” today as the weather changed. All on the outside edges of the milfoil with jigs and craw-tubes. Strong fish – best was a touch over 22 inches – must have been 5 1/2 lbs.

    Lots of 18-20’s

Hopefully, the Mpls Parks Team will have the sandbox removed by next weekend so I can fish the big boat.

Enjoy the week – it is heating up and summer is here. Anybody fishing O’Dowd? Other Metro Ponds?

When fishing alone, it is tough to run the camera and also star in my own fishing show.

Maybe I will have to get a back seat, mounted camera and camcorder to video, like the guy’s on U Tube.

I could then edit my ugly mug out of the photos

    Dog,

Sounds like fun….when you fish on Calhoun with the big boat, where do you park your trailer? I don’t remember seeing a lot in that area last time I was there.

On the street is correct. There is a lot on the north end of the lake but if you get there early, there is plenty of parking.

HINT – when you park at 5AM, give some thought as to how you are going to get out of your parking spot when you leave. The tree huggers give no thought to parking you in CLOSE and you will be having a good time trying to get out of your spot when the city gets busy and you want to go home.

When I park around there I usually try to find a corner spot even if it is a ways to the landing it’s still worth it not to get blocked in. Usually the neighborhood has some spots open.
