Never fished with fluorocarbon yet and was wondering if 17lb test would be enough to handle flipping….i wouldnt use it for the real thick stuff tho thats wut my braid pole is for..or would 20 be the safer bet?

I use 17lb fluoro to flip, and I haven’t had a problem yet

I use 20 lb. Seaguar flurocarbon or Abraz-X for flipping and have had no problems and it is awesome.

15 lb. Seaguar Inviz X is what I use for all other applications.

Tried some of the seagur flourocarbon this weekend. Is that stuff really bouyant or is it just me? Was using 12lb on a weightless senko, and it gave me fits. Took about ten casts and determined wrong application.

I’d definitely go with 20 on a flippin stick. you would most likely be fine with 17, but I’d be worried about knot failure on a short string and a hard set.

I’ve been using the 25lb Sogui all year on my flipping set up and have had great success. I’m typically a braid guy but I’m slowing changing my ways.
