Fishing a small Wi. Flowage last Thursday I managed to break my personal best large mouth twice, both 21 1/2 inches and very fat (maybe full of eggs yet) On my Rapala scale one was 5-11 the other 5-12, I’m guessing that this is probably pretty close to accurate weights. My partner and I boated 7 other bass and we each got a Muskie 33 and 34 inches. A cold windy beginning turned into to a pretty good day. My partners 34 inch Muskie was his first ever Muskie so he also was very pleased with the day. All the fish were returned to fight again. All the action was on blue black swim jigs.
Sorry no camera in the boat (makes me sick!)
OOPS! sorry guys, I had just finished reading the post on the 23 inch largemouth when I wrote my post, had a classic Brain Fart. My two fish were 21 1/2 inches not 23 in. I think my scale is pretty accurate. My previous PB was 5.66 lb. which took big fish honors while anchoring the our 1st place bag in the very first “Three Rivers Bass club” fall team tournament out of La Crosse.
