After getting a new graph ( Lowrance 27C ) for the boat this off season I was thinking about moving the old graph up to the front deck. Then I got to thinking about it and thought I may be better off mounting my Vexilar FL18 up front instead. I currently have a clearwater classic mounted up there and that has got to go. I guess I would like to know what all of you prefer up front on your boats. Some of my buddy’s have said go with the flaser and some the graph. Just would like to hear the pro’s and con’s from all the great fishing mind’s here. Thanks in advance for all of your thoughts.

Ran my FL-18 on my bow for 3 years and loved it. Now I run a 788ci Humminbird and love it more. I do like having the graph up front better because it has the delay of showing the picture for a period of time vs on the flasher it is instantaneous. That way I don’t have to stay glued to it all the time. What is the unit you are going to mount up front? Is it color? If not, I would definitely go with the FL as you can tell how strong the echoes are by your colored lines.

It is a early Lowrance color unit. I think it is a LCX16. Not a bad graph unit. All I need would ne a Trolling motor transducer and I’d be good to go

I like my Lowrance GPS/Depth Finder Combo. It’s priceless for fishing deep water plus if you really need flasher attributes, they run in flasher mode as well.
