Hit the water with my father and brother today out on Lake Winnebago. Didn’t think it was supposed to be that windy, but it never stopped blowing all day long. A few of the points and islands out there still have ice on them stacked at least 20ft in the air, pretty neat, did not see any floating around in the water thankfully. Did see a whole tree floating by when motoring from one spot to another. Put in at Silent Bay and as soon as we got outside of the protected area, we were faced with some nice 4ft’ers. First time out in my new Skeeter in rough water and it did pretty darn good. 4ft Bago waves are a son of a gun, man they are so far apart and each one of them are so big.

We hit a few of the man made slews up and down the shoreline and did better than anticipated. Water was 42 degrees at 7am warming to 46 when we finished at 3pm. Boated 5 LM Bass, 4 of them between 13″ and 14″ and one a bit over 15″. Nothing great, but still in this cold water, a great day. All fish came off of the bank (not on the rip-rap) in about 4ft of water. Only one bite was detectable, all others were just weight. Presentation was dead slow, or as slow as you could get in the wind with weightless plastics. Not the best day on the water, but much better than working. And got some bass flopping around on the new carpeting, she’s broke in now.
