For a few more bucks consider the new/redesigned Legend Tournament Bass series…The married a VI scrim graphite butt section to a scrim V top to really speed up the hookset. I have the Teaser and although it may not be “intended” for Cranks…it works just fine Dean at Everts will let you not only feel them but also fish them!

    LTBC70MF / Teaser

Superior rod for fishing “teaser” type soft plastics including Senko®-style baits. Excellent choice for buzzbaits, too.

    LTBC70MM / Small Cranker

We designed this rod for small-size and shallow-running crankbaits. The moderate action is ideal for this style of lure.

    LTBC70MHF / Sweeper Spinnerbait

Great for searching open water with big spinnerbaits for active bass. Also a very versatile heavy-cover rod.

    LTBC70MHM / Big Cranker

Our most popular bass crankbait rod. Perfect for a wide variety of medium- to large-size crankbaits at various depths. Need we say more?

So far the MOJO reviews are solid.I have been putting a few in the hands of experienced bass folks. The MBC70MHM and or 76MHMMF sounds like a candidate. I would welcome a test drive from you guys.

take a look at the 7 foot crankin rods made by Loomis. They’re a couple hundred bucks and then some, but worth every cent IMO

I second the setyrs, don’t have one myself yet, saving the pennies.

I have one of the St. Croix cranking rods. I have to say this is the only St. Croix that I own that I have been disappointed with. It makes a great open water cranking rod but is much to soft for ripping baits from cover. This rod is a few years old and I’m sure St. croix probably have a few new rods in their lineup that would do the job much better than the one I have. It all depends on what you are going to throw with it and the type of use. If you are going to be using it around any type of grass make sure it has enough stiffnes to it for ripping.

What power rod is it? I had the M, and it was REALLY soft, which was nice for those jumping smallies on small cranks, but useless in the weeds as you have said. I have a MH Shimano now, and IMO it’s still not heavy enough for weeds.

I think you need a H power cranking rod to rip the weeds.

Regardless of brand, keep in mind your fishing style. For myself, I like the moderate tip section. I set the hook on cranks like I’m ripp’n their heads off, compared to finesse jigging where I just give it a little “Pop”. Again, for my style of cranks, I need the moderate tip to absorb some of the impact when I’m swinging for the parking lot. I see other guys in mu boat that never really set the hook. They have a super fast action and just start reelling and load the rod. If you get by Dean and can test drive a couple, try out different tip actions to find what is best suited to you.

now to me, in this economy, this doesn’t make sense for a business to be “backordering”. I could see if the whole economy was going “great guns” but its not..

You can’t sell Zero’s is what Shorty used to tell me.. and you can’t make any money off them as well.

that’s a real shame and someone, at any rod company that is backordering, or the wholesaler, should lose their job..

this is not a year to have any zero’s in your order sheet..

i said in a different post that i was in park falls a few weeks ago, and they barely had any in their retail store. they said they are setting up the factory in mexico and having a hard time making the transition from park falls to mexico where they will be making the mojos and triumphs. im sure it will be getting better soon
