Just for something to ponder about on this mighty fine day …What are some of your guys’ favorite bass rods, and what you like to throw with them?

Even though I got for Christmas it’s my new favorite rod. St.Croix Avid 7′ Heavy Action with a Quantum Tour PT for Swimjigs! I Looove it

St. Croix 7′ MH Legend Elite paired with my Daiwa Zillion.

This rod does 75% of my presentations (I have a bunch of Avids in the same power with old Curados that do the same thing).

Back in the day I bought a couple 7′ Tony Rizzo rods. Medium Heavy. They work great for me. Whether it’s Bass or a good Pike I know the rod will handle it.

I like the 7′ MH Fenwick HMX paired with a quantum energy PT burner reel for spinnerbaits…the feel of this rod in your hands is incredibly awesome..and the new energy reels are just smaller in profile and fit better in your hands

Did you get some snow down there? I have two Cabela XML rods w/Revo STX’s and a XML spinning rod with a Sahara spinning reel. I am thinking about a St. Croix Extreme with a Garcia Reese Mdl They all do what they are suppose to do except during operator error.

My favorite Rod would have to be the St. Croix Avid Casting 7’3″ MH. I have 2 of them and I pretty much only use them for slop frogs and buzz toads although they would make a pretty good rod for pitching jigs and plastics in heavy cover as well as Carolina rigging which I pretty much never do. They no longer make this rod in the Avid so I hope I don’t break them like I did with one in the past swinging a big bass with grass into the boat.

My second favorite rod would have to be a rod I bought just last year. The Shimano Crucial 6’10” MH X-Fast. It’s a very versatile rod and it is a blast to fight fish with.

followed by a 1L old Lew’s 100% graphite spinning rod.

I am sorry but I am old school..

I’ve been enjoying that commercial that Bill Dance has out…where he talks about all the mistakes he’s seen anglers make and ‘break’ rods…

    His advice? ‘Don’t do that’….

    you’re welcome…

I picked myself up a gloomis last year and love it to death. Put the quantum burner on there and couldnt be happier with any other setup. Maybe when taxes come back we might rig another just like it.

It would be considered there jig and worm series. In a 7 foot one inch rod. I personally love it I dont love the price but its the best rod for throwing jigs or worms. I can feel everything my jig comes across on the bottom.
