I’m considering trying a few football jigs this upcoming year and was wondering if any of you guys out there have tried them. Any preferred brands over others?…Types of cover to fish around? Thanks for the input fellas!

Footballs are great in rocky cover. Beter than most other head designs. Take a look at the Title-SHot series of footballs by Fin-Tech. http://www.jigfish.com

I used them late last fall with a lot of success around wood. They aren’t the best jig for fishing wood but most of the cover I was dealing with was small enough to bull-doze over with a 3/4 oz jig. They really seemed to prefer the loud presentation of that heavier jig over a lighter 1/2 oz or less flipping jig. It was also nice because I was fishing in 15-20 ft of water and I could feel every stick, and when I made contact it was about a 3 second wait until a fish had it

I fish them alot in late summer and early fall on mainlake rocks. The best brand that I have found is the touchdown jig made by Outkasttackle.com
