What areas and what kind of structure do you guys fish as soon as the ice goes out? ( points, wood, shorelines)??

I like to fish the warmest water you can find. I like to focus on shorelines that recieve the most sun throughout the day. If it has rock on it even better, the rocks soak up the heat and transmit the heat to the water. I mainly focus on backwater areas with about 4 or 5 feet of water. I try to stay away from areas with alot of flow because the current is carrying colder water. I like to use big white spinnerbaits or black or blue swim jigs. Are the icefishing blues hitting you hard jon boy?

Say JD I am almost to a point where I am starting to cave on this weather and turn to playing with my bass lures I need a ice fishing “fix” or I am going to Cabelas and start fondling new rods and reels. Say did you get my pm?

I know exactly how you are feeling. Ive actually have started to clean my rod and reels. I have gotten my gear out once and sorted through some of the stuff. I’m getting the itch but I’m still going to hit the ice as hard as i can. Hopefully that doesn’t mean falling on my arse . Jon the ranger is all gassed up and fully charged so any day now .

no kistlers, I’m a st. croix man. I’m sure they are nice rods though. I use shimano and pflueger reels. I’ve never had any problems with either of them.
