I’m going to be spending part of the weekend getting all my Rod’s and reel’s cleaned up and ready for the upcoming season. While doing this I’m going to be thinking about how I want each rod set up for various applications. I was interested in what rod and line setups you are all currently using for various bass techniques? Following is a list of how I had all of my rods rigged last season:

Jig – 7 Ft. heavy action baitcaster rod with 25Lb Trilene XT
    – 7 ½ Ft. heavy action baitcaster rod with 50Lb. Powerpro line

Texas Rig – 6 ½ Ft. Medium action baitcaster rod with 10Lb. Trilene vanish gold line
    – 7 Ft. Medium Heavy action spinning rod with 10 Lb.Trilene fireline.

Dropshot – 7 Ft. Medium Light action baitcaster rod with 8Lb. Trilene vanish gold line
    – 7 Ft. Medium action spinning rod with 8 Lb. Trilene firelene line

Jigworm – 7Ft. Medium action spinning rod with 10Lb. Trilene vanish gold line

Finesse – 6 ½ Ft. Medium action spinning rod with 8Lb. Trilene XL line

Dockskipping – 6 Ft.Medium action spinning rod with 10Lb. Trilene XT line
    – 6 ½ Ft. Medium heavy action spinning rod with 10 Lb. fireline line

Slop – 7 ½ Ft. Extra Heavy action baitcaster rod with 50Lb. Powerpro line.

Well that’s all of my current setups. It will be interesting hearing all of your setups. Thanks in advance for all of your thoughts and responses.

I don’t know how clear your water is but I would consider 12 xt for the Texas rig. that line pulls out to almost 20 lbs on the old triline knot testing machine.. to the point were we wouldn’t use 12 xt because we were afraid to break the machine..
