I am posting this in the bass forum and the Croix forum. Your thoughts

Taken from another forum. What do you guys think?

    St.Croix River Bass Tournament

1st place weighs in 8 fish that go 29lbs. ALL LARGEMOUTH BASS.
2nd place weighs in 8 fish that go 17lbs. ALL SMALLMOUTH BASS.

I mean, they just dominated everybody. That was a monster bag of bass that was brought in.
    Now, for the facts.

    1. St. Croix River- Smallmouth dominate the river. There are some big largemouth in there if you can find them. Keep in mind that finding a big largemouth on that river is like finding a needle in a haystack.

    2. 1st place 8 fish for 29lbs. Big fish weighed 5 1/2 lbs. So, you’ll need 7 fish to make up the other 23 1/2 lbs. Thats roughly, a 3 1/2lb average for the 7 fish. Thats a nice largemouth.

    3. I had a buddy who prefished for the tournament couple days before the actual tourney. He’s at the boat launch and ready to go home. Decides to fool around by the docks. He catches a nice largemouth in shallow water. He keeps pulling and pulling, but the fish wont come in. This kind of sucks, so he jumps into the water to land the fish. He grabs the fish, only to find it tied to the fishing dock by some heavy fishing line. Long enough line so the fish can still feed and stay alive. This largemouth bass goes 4-4 1/2 lbs.

? ? ? ? Kinda fishy? (no pun intended) If it was anywhere else, Id believe it. But on the St. Croix? Mainly a smallmouth fishery? WInner comes in with a big *** 29lb bag and just dominates the field, beating 2nd place by 12lbs! Thats domination. Maybe too dominant? My buddy finds a 4lb largemouth bass tied to a dock couple days before a fishing tournamnet. Coincidence? Almost everybody else weighs in with mostly all smallmouth, and 1st place comes in with ALL largemouth?
