Never been on the stretch of the river so went out looking Friday, a little choppy in the morning and the wind was out of the south, pushing the river back, had one heck of a ride on Peppin. Found nice fish at several spots. Started using a white chatter bait got hits right away, put that away and tried different colors, got some hits on a brown chatter including a nice 3+ LMB, switched back to white and got some nice fish again. Went to another spot and tried a white spinner, they where hitting on that also, got fish on weightless worm and Gambler Flapp’n Shads.

Saturday tournament day, wind had shifted to the nnw 20-30 mph, went back to the spots found on Friday and as usual, fish where no longer there, at least the species we where looking for. Got some pretty heavy rains and then they would stop just long enough to dry off a little and then they started again. Caught a couple of small bass, 3 northerns, sheepies, white bass, and walleye. The boater picked up three smallies that weighed. Top weight for the day was 5 fish at 10.77

Sunday we went through the lock into pool 3, again windy with fast current, had a hard time holding the boat in place, lost a lot of lures by the wing dams. Most of them had to cut the line, because we could not get to them.
Boater picked up the only 2 keepers for the day. Went back down to 4 and I did not get a single hit, boater picked up a nice 10lb cat on a plastic worm. Can not remember all the weights on Sunday, but myself and 3 others logged 0.

All in all still had a good time, I was on the water.

Stayed at Everts all weekend and was treated pretty good for me being a bass guy. Met a lot of the guys that are on this site, nice to have finally met you guys. Some day I am going to try just moving down the river, having a beer and waiting for a fish to bite.

    Thanks again Dean.
