The two lakes I fish here in west central Minnesota (one is Rush Lake between Ottertail and Perham the other is too small to mention) have good populations of bass, but I usually don’t catch all that many – maybe 4-6 on a two hour trip. But they are all usually quality fish – 2 lbs plus. I very seldom catch the little guys, which maybe due to my tactics and lure selection. My brother-in-law always talks about catching 25-40 fish on a trip – usually alot of 12″ or there abouts. My question is – do you like to go for numbers or quality? I’m happy when I catch any bass, but I really like to catch the 15″ and up fish, they are a blast! Even if I only get 4 or 5.
What do you think?
