    Guys,

I’m sure you all know the Classic story and saw the wrapped boats on the water but do you even wonder what they drive? Skeet Reese’s rig is so big it wouldn’t fit in the ramp. It’s a Ford F 650 (a 3 ton) tricked-out PU. The Toyota guys rigs all look the same. I walked past Ike’s and had to suppress the urge to slash his tires. Both Ike and DVD had 2 trucks in the ramp. The last one isn’t one of the Classic anglers but we saw it every day.

I saw pics of Skeet’s truck somewhere else online. I couldn’t imagine the gas bill with that thing.

I hope sir “Bassalot” has some sort of Towtector or something. It’d be like a sand box in his boat, and nothing left of the gellcoat by the time he gets to the next (gas station) ‘er I mean Lake .

I’m sure its no worse than anyone driving a V-10 or other 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. Maybe better depending on what motor is in it.

That F-650 is kinda ugly don’t ya think? It looks like one of my sons toy plastic trucks.

Just being sassy, there are alot of engine choices for them. Pretty cool. 190 hp up to over 300hp. Some of the smaller engines have in line 6 cylinder turbo diesels.

i am thinking Skeete Reese needs that size truck to haul his ego to and from tourneys. He was very insulting while speaking at Gander during the Wissota elite 50.I would never allow him to represent my company as Berkley does.

I was at gander also as you stated. Skeet thought that wissota was not good enough to even fish for bass, so he bought some musky baits and fished for musky instead of bass most of the tourny! Jay Yelas and Larry Nixon were easy to talk with and actually wanted to fish the tourny even though it was a tough tourny. Don’t get me wrong, Skeet did take time to talk about wissota, but had nothing good to say…maybe the lake sucks in his opinion!

AS i recALL THE COMMENTS HE FELT SORRY FOR ALL OF US THAT HAD TO FISH SUCH A BAD PIECE OF WATER.Why say such a thing while representjng Berkley as he was that evening. It shows no class…granted wissota is a little small for 50 pros to have enough elbow room especially when the little lake was saved for the final days.

I agree. Wissota isn’t worth the gas burned while fishing it.

Not big enough for 50 elites? Maybe not.

Big enough to keep me and my clients hoisting smallies and walleyes over the side of the boat all spring, summer and fall? You bet!

I was to shocked to say anything to Skeet to the contrary.I was there to see Jay and Larry anyway!
I’m proud to have wisotta in my backyard and am continuing to be frustrated some days and elated the next…a great fishery

Skeet is obviously compensating for something.

Or just having fun with his good fortune and life while it lasts. Probably works for marketing too. It got all of our attention. Its hard to miss that Lucky Craft signage on that rig.

Skeet has one big ego no doubt so it’s a good thing he can catch fish

I don’t blame Skeet. Look at the great places they get to fish for bass. Blame B.A.S.S. for having the tournament at that location. It makes no sense to me because of the size, and there are clearly better places in Wisconsin to fish for bass. Miss River, Green Bay, Winneconne just to name a few.

I think that BASS went to where they were most welcome. Chippewa Falls is one of the few WI communities that truely appreciates what bass tournaments can bring to community (somewhere in the areas of $2million I believe.) Yeah, there were a lot of better places to fish. I could name about 10 lakes that are smaller in size but would stil fish bigger than Wissota in the summer. But unfortunately, I think you would have too many lake associations up in arms if a big name tournament was held on “their” lake.

Yeah it sucked that the best we could offer was Wissota, I would have given my right one to watch KVD on the river or watch any of them work some weedlines on any of our awesome northern lakes, but I’m thankful they came at all, cause it looks like you will be waiting another 20 years before WI ever welcoms BASS of FLW with open arms

ESPN Outdoors had a lot to do with them going to Wissota. The Outdoors shows (log rolling etc) had been up there for a few years and the atmosphere was great (much like Bomber Said) – so somehow they convinced BASS to take a trip to that same location……

So while everything was great with the people, town, atmosphere etc….the fishing wasn’t what the Elite Pro’s were used to…..

I still might come for one week if Red still has an open boat. Just seeing how the stars align. If it would ruin the trip I’ll make it happen.

That’s definitely accurate. I am working with the community chamber of commerce to hold our upcoming Wissota walleye tournament in June. Suffice it to say that the Chippewa Falls chamber AGGRESSIVELY markets the lake as a tournament destination, and ensures that participants and their families feel welcome.

In my book, that counts for a lot!
