For the last 6 months I’ve been talking to our clubs resident dropshot expert, Chuck Campbell (the fluker) about the rod he uses. He built his rod from a St Croix 4S76MLF blank which equates to a St Croix Legend Tournament series TWS76MLF rod. He also adds they make a 8 foot version of the rod.
I was at Evrets last week getting the latest info on the sauger bite and noticed a collapsible spinning rod in his rod display. The rod is from Limit Creek and is designed for lindy rigging for walleyes with extra long leaders. The extended rod measures 8”3” and collapses to 6’4”. The action is medium light…fast. The rod has good backbone from the upper 1/3 to the handle. I really like the fact that it collapses. It looks like a great dropshot/floot-n-fly rod so I ordered one. We’ll see how it works out. If it doesn’t work a walleye guy is going to get a good buy.
