First trip of 2008

    I will be heading out on Wednesday for my first trip of 2008. I will be driving about an hour and 45min to a powerplant lake. This lake is loaded with lots of Smallies and a few Largemouths. Fish over 5.5 pounds are caught every year, with one almost as big as the current Illinois State record. DNR shocking samples have netted smallies over the state record.

    I have been down a few times in the past, with my best day bringing in 7 fish in about 1 hour (then I switched over to live bait fishing)

    I will let you know how I do. I will be happy with one bass tugging on my line
