Was doing a little scouting around this evening up on Demontreville/Olson lakes. Fishing was overall a litte slow. Lightning all around in the late evening, and not many people out on the water.
This was the sunset I enjoyed, just AFTER prime colors….

I did catch one quality Largemouth, it’s a little thin, but measured 19 inches. This fish hit a Scum Frog twice. It was SO HARD to not swing on the first blow up, I could just make out that the Frog was still floating there, even after it got moved about 10 inches. I let it set motionless for a few seconds, then gave it a small twitch, and the Bass slammed it again.
    I just LOVE Summer Topwater….

Nice Fish! I have wanted to try demonterville again lately. Doesn’t that chain of lakes have special regs?

Nice fish Jack. Nothing better than top water Bassin (unless it’s with a flyrod!).

How was the access? The last time I was out there it was getting kind of shallow at the end of the dock. Last night’s rain ought to help.

PeteyB…Lakes DeMontreville, Olson, and Jane are all catch-and-release only for Bass.

That’s a great fish Jack. I made it out for a couple hours also. The fishing was great.

Here’s one I caught. Almost all of them were this size.

The boat ramp concrete blocks END about 4 feet from the water edge.
the lake looks like it is at least 2 feet low, from the last time I was there sometime last year.

launching was still not a real problem. but there is a rock point off the shore that comes out to just behind the ramp. IF you keep your motor trimmed up that will not be a problem.
Just have to be a little careful.

Blue, nice LM, did you get my PM about sending a closeup pic of your ChugBug. I was going to get the air-brush out and paint one up and try it.

    Jack.
