    kind of a weird question but on my best tournament rod i am not sure if i have enough line on it any tips to know or what to see?

    what kind of reel, what kind of line, what pound test and what are you using the rod for, medium, MH, that kind of stuff.

    I fill my baitcasters within a 1/16 of an inch from the edge of the spool. How much line I put on is determined by the diameter and poundage.

    As for my spinning reels, I don’t fill them up as far. I hate it when the line spools off at it’s own free will. I don’t use heavy line on my spinning gear. Nothing over 10lb mono or flourocarbon.

    Sounds like a good set up as a Senko rod. As far as how much line you should have on it, I’d say fill up the spool to at least 1/8 or so from spool rim. The line should come off quite easily. I’d retie the line after 4 or 5 fish.
