Ultimate match fishing. Clausen vs. Ehler

I have only seen the show a couple of times. I don’t know if this has been talked about before.

Basically Clausen would try and cut Ehlers line with the trolling motor when Ehler hooked a fish. To top it of…Ehler had a good fish on that he was trying to lip. Clausen went to the back of the boat and cut Ehlers line with his teeth and then shook his rod. Ehler went for the line and ended up falling in and losing the fish.

How Clausen was not disqualified is beyond me. Is this what UMF is about? Are they trying to bring out the worst?

I can’t understand how someone would feel good about winning that way. If that the kind of stuff some guys will do when a camera is on them….it makes me wonder.

there is a concern article on the main site. this isent the first match last week the guy tried to turn the trolling moter into the the line but the guy toke the penalty by crossing the center line and caught the fish.

luke also said that he thought the fish was already in ehlers hands.

Now, here is what you didn’t get to see when the cameras were not rolling. Luke Clausen offered Brent the opportunity to take any fish from his live well to replace the bass he lost. Mr. Ehrler refused.

Who cares what he offered after the fact. It was completely classless–period. If some one did it to me, I would go to jail. It was for 50,000.00 buck for crying out loud.

not to mention the fact that Clausen had a box full of 15″ers and Ehler’s fish that was lost was 4 or 5 pounds…I don’t believe Clausen intended on him losing the fish but it was just a bad joke that went terribly wrong. I call for a rematch!!!

I DVR that show every week and got a chance to watch it late last night. Apparently they don’t have a rule against such behavior. They probably didn’t think that anyone was that much of a complete classless idiot. Luke proved them wrong. Good job Luke. Way to represent.

Bad decision. They should have DQed Luke. Brent appears to be one of those guys that would let a bully steal his lunch money and then lie to the principal to protect the bully. He’s being a little naive in my book. He’s a good guy, but come on Brent. There’s 50 Gs on the line and you got robbed by a complete jerk!

Slop and guys that watched this show. I read the response of the TV producers on what happened. However, I did not read anything about a rematch or the Clausen lost the match. So I take it, Clausen, even after everything that happened won the match? If Clausen, off camera was going to give Brett a fish of his, why did’nt he do the right thing and DQ himself???

Overall, I do like the show….but missed this show.

Luke won. Even sat down the 4th quarter because he was in the lead. He felt pretty bad about what he did, I’m sure.

Luke didn’t even give him a hand getting back into the boat!! I will not be watching the show again if this is the way thay are going to handle this. You have to figure that there were a lot of people who watched that show who have no idea what tourney fishing is all about. Way to make the rest of us look like a bunch of complete jerks UMF.

Pretty much a “reality TV show”…….Which are basically “not” reality.
My opinion is that ratings were dropping.
Look what they did to just jack it back up!!!!!

Remember, this wasn’t “live” footage.

I saw it on the Outdoor Channel. I DVR it but I wouldn’t know how to get it on here.

Basically, Brent was landing a fish and Luke walked to the back of the boat, grabbed his line and bit the line in half. Brent lost the fish. Apparently, it was about a 5-pounder.

Outdoor Channel It should re-run again this week sometime so keep your eyes open

Wish Luke Causen would have pulled that crap on someone like Gerald Swindle. My money says Luke goes in the water.

How that wasn’t a DQ is beyond me.
