It looks to be a 2-man race to the end for the Bassmaster Angler of the Year. KVD is 20pts behind front-runner Skeet Reese. If I had to put my money on either of those 2, I’d choose KVD. The guy is clutch, he knows how to get the job done when everything is on the line.

    From Bassmaster.com.

The Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year program acknowledges and rewards those anglers who fish the most consistently over the course of the Elite Series season. Along with the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Classic title, the Angler of the Year is the most sought after award on the BASS circuit because it recognizes the hard work and credibility of those who achieve it.

Anglers fishing each Bassmaster Elite Series event are awarded points based on their finish. The angler with the most points at the end of the season wins.

The points race begins during the “Battle on the Border” on Lake Amistad in Del Rio, Texas, March 8-11, and wraps up during “Sunshine Showdown” in Kissimmee, Fl., on Lake Toho, Sep. 13-16, where the 2007 Angler of the Year will be crowned.

    Here’s the Top Ten.

1 Skeet Reese Auburn, Calif. 2259
2 Kevin VanDam Kalamazoo, Mich. 2239
3 Jared Lintner Arroyo Grande, Calif. 2037
4 Aaron Martens Leeds, Ala. 1992
5 Terry Scroggins San Mateo, Fla. 1953
6 Edwin Evers Talala, Okla. 1935
7 Steve Kennedy Auburn, Ala. 1930
8 Ishama Monroe Hughson, Calif. 1927
9 Scott Rook Little Rock, Ark. 1907
10 John Murray Phoenix, Ariz. 1882

Who do you pick to win the AOY?

KVD is the best fisherman in the world…but I’m cheering for Skeet. He’s overdue. I think Skeet has finally come into his own and is about to finally seperate himself into the next level angler.

KVD is really gunning for it. Last year he was close….even after one disqualification.

He would have won it hands down. My money would be on KVD.

All of the guys in the top ten are class guys. It’s been a great season because Ike’s been out of it since the first tournament. Now I don’t have to listen to him screem on TV!

Skeet Reese. He’s been on my fantasy team all year.
Other than that, anyone who doesn’t belong to the ‘I can scream louder than you whenever I catch anything over 2 lbs.’ club.
