Does anyone throw a Buzzbait anymore? With the recent surge of plastic frogs like the Stanley Ribbit and the Horney Toad it seems people have gone away from Buzzbaits.

I still like to keep one tied on. One of my favorite places to throw one is along rip rap or over wingdams.

Who else keeps a Buzzbait standing by?

Having worn out 6/8 blades, 4/6 rivets and snapping a couple off this year, I’ld say yes. I gotta go and pick up a half dozen or so.
It’s this years #1 bait for me.

Are you fishing the Upper Miss.? I know those Smallies up there will crush a buzzbait.

Yes, mainly for largemouth but I love throwing them on the river for smallies.
I love making them and catching smallies on my own baits

buzzbaits are my absolute favorive bait to through! have caught at least 100 largemouth and quite a few smallies, as well as a few nice muskies and pike. double bladed, and single bladed- with clackers are my favorite. booyah makes a dam good buzzbait. even the cheap ones at fleet farm and small bait shops work!(if you run out of the good ones)

i love throwing buzzbaits in the thickest junk I can get away with. It’s surprising the kinds of stuff you can get them over..I have no problems with Northland buzzbaits, and the price can’t be beat.

I was not on the river, but I got 2 LM on a buzzer last night.
I’ve pretty much always have one close by.

I like the origional Lunker Lure. They have that fish attracting squeel right out of the package. I’ll throw em anywhere you can get one to run.

Have one tied on all the time, and have caught more fish with one this year than I ever have. Really like throwing them in lilly pads.

I have used buzzbaits more this year than I can ever remember. With the river levels so low right now up here, the smallies have positioned themselves out in the current shallow flat areas in the sections I have been fishing and the buzzbait has become a great search tool for my boat. My hookup percentage has been pretty decent as well so far this summer.

I have been tossing both the buzz frogs and buzzbaits and have not really seen much of a difference in my blow up numbers. I do hook up with more fish on the buzzbaits though. I love the three bladed strike king one they sell at wal-mart. Black and blue is my favorite.

I hadn’t thrown a buzz bait in three summers until I put one out there on a whim a few weeks ago and caught a LM within a few casts. Since then, it’s put at least one fish in the boat on each trip.

I’m usually buzzing right around dusk.
