i had a post a little bit ago about slow fishing. Basically i wasn’t catching fish for the past couple times I don’t know if it’s because water temps are not changing because we haven’t had rain in the past couple weeks, water levels dropping?? How has everyones bass fishing been doing on lakes??

my luck has bean about the same unfortunetly. my local lakes havent given me any bass or muskies in a while. must have something to do with the water temps- 81 degrees on orchard lake! thats pretty hot. cant wait till about october and november for some wally action on pool 4! the only fish i seem to get are right on the bottom- small pike, crapie, and tiny bass. have you got anything nice on topwaters in the morning? i havent bean out early in a while.

we were out yesturday night from 5 to dark and caught about 15 . The biggest being 18.5 inches around 4-4.5 pounds. Most of the fish were caught on topwater poppers and scum frogs. I did manage to catch a few bass about 2-3 pounds on a jig in about 20 FOW. So hopefully the fishing will pick up! But we need rain to bring the water temps. down

When the weather gets hot and the bite shuts down around here we start fishing for them at night. From sunset till 1am over 4′ weed beds with a good drop-off near-by. Last year we had some great nights with 15 fish over 4 lbs. They won’t hit a chug bug or spook but just loved jitterbugs and ribbits. Give it a try and you’ll be supprised.

Thanks for all of the replies!! It still sounds like some people are catching fish, so that’s good to hear I want to try night fishing and i heard that topwater is the best for that, and also slow sinking stick baits and other plastics by docks that have lights shining on the water.

you can go to any gander moutain and find them zoom baits. they are only 5″ but they seem to work good. really anything pumpkin or even watermelon will work. try not to get the flake stuff, I havent had any luck with them, just the straight up color is what has been working for me. another thing you might want to try around docks, especially around feeding time is a jig-n-pig. look at a camo color or even a blue/black with a power craw trailer, get that garlic scent going. you will be surprised with getting the scent baits going during the feeding time, might get alot of short bites, but they will be getting ready to feed. also if you get a blow up on the top water and miss, go back in with a slow moving plastic, might be able to pick it up again.
