For the last 3 times that i have gone out fishing, i have only been able to catch 1 fish on the same lake This is the same lake that i have been fishing for almost 10 years with constant success!! A couple weeks ago, i was able to put anywhere from 10-20 fish in the boat in 4 hours. Normally, i have been slaughtering the largies on jigs and texas rigged worms in about 15-18 feet of water around sunken timber. Now i haven’t been able to even get a fish to strike my bait, either a reaction strike or a hunger strike

I guess you could call this the “Dog Days” but i was able to pull 15-20 lbs in 3-4 hours last summer around this time. My question is, does anyone think these bass have moved deeper to drop off ledges, banks, cover, etc????? Should my presentation switch at all? I REALLY need the help!!

With the heat it wouldn’t suprise me to see the fish go deeper. If it were me I would start looking fo rnew cover though. See if you can find some rocks in the same depth. (I prefer points) Again if it were me I would start with C rigs or some sort of rock jig. Others may prefer t rigs and drop shots.

Not sure what kind of water you’re fishing, that would help, but I do get a great Rapala DT bite this time of year. Just make sure you’re banging into something whether it be the wood or the bottom.

Otherwise a Senko type lure is great if you haven’t done that yet. We usually us a Bull Shot weight crimped about 9″ above your lure for the deep stuff. Work it like a Carolina Rig.

I have been getting plenty of shallow fish the last coupe weeks too so don’t ignore that. In the heavy sun it places those bass right where they should be!

I’d go shallow into the slop and try some topwater..

This time of year I hit the deep weed edges with jigs or texas rigged worms. Also, as state before, points can be good too. Good luck.

I have a couple DTs that dive to 18 feet and i haven’t caught a fish on one since i bought them I tried fishing topwater today in about 8-10 fow to try a new presentation but nothing hit. Basically, the bottom is heavy weeds and standing sunken timber and some cedar or pine trees on their sides.

What oz bull shot would anyone recommend for a DT?
