When you are in the mid to heavey slop:
    1. does color matter
    2. Do you weight your bait to create a bigger wake or push though the slop?

I’d have to agree: NO and NO.
In very heavy scum weeds, a frog is not going to plow thru anything, it is going to be on top of it. the bass can feel the movement, and they can see the shadow moving over head. If you get a blow up, only set the hook hard, if you can NOT see the frog anymore. It is so easy to swing on a blow up. but if the frog is still on the surface you HAVE to leave it there. after a few moments, make some small movements and hold ON. The hardest thing to learn when froggin is is to NOT set the hook on just a blow up, the frog has to be gone.

I agree with Jack, I have found that some of my best hook-up have been with my head turned while B.S’n with someone in the boat and I do not see the inital hit.
Try slopin with your eyes closed and using your sense of sound and feel.
