Were you specifically fishing them? Too bad you didnt catch any, I bet they would taste good in that cold water.

Catching Smallies on Mille Lac – Priceless, it doesn’t get any better then that. Well, it could have been better if we actually had caught a couple!

We happened across a school of smallies while jigging for eyes and boated 21, that was by far the highlight of our week end. Only caught 7 walleyes. 2 were legals, 1 under and the rest overs. Good week end but sad to see so few on the lake, I feel bad for the local businesses.

Didn’t see or catch any on the SE side. (Around Big Point) Usually see them in shallow on the walleye opener. Still too cold.

I’m in. I am looking to head to Mille Lacs September 5,6,7. Any info on the smallies is greatly appreciated! Ihave never been on Mille Lacs for soft water, only ICE.
