It’s not too late for Fall Bass Fishing

Decided to give Walleye fishing a break and tried some Fall Bass fishing this afternoon. I also had to try out my new Dobyns champion series 734 C FH baitcaster; I was really impressed with it as a medium heavy Bass rod. Perfect for jigs, spinnerbaits, and even large crankbaits. Special thanks to IDO field staff member Tom Gursky for helping me decide which Bass rod I should upgrade to

Even with the tough weather this afternoon the Bass fishing did not disappoint on my metro lake. The key was to find the remaining green weeds and I found them in ~6 to 9 FOW. Typical Bass patterns worked well including jigs, spinnerbaits, and drop shotting. Caught several big fish including one 21″ which was a great way to break in my new rod.

Fall is a great time to Bass fish so don’t put away the Bass rods yet

Some nice fish! Great way to break in a new rod. Fall is my favorite time of year and the fishing can really be great

You would have caught more/bigger fish if your boat wasn’t so ugly. Are you fishing out of some kind of Sherman tank, or what? I shudder to think how you’d coordinate matching team shirts to a boat that color.

You are bringing down property values with a boat that ugly. You should upgrade.

By the results you had in the P-2 Tourney and the TANKS you’ve been catching all season in those pressured metro lakes…I’ll fish out of your “ugly” boat anytime KWP!

    Ok,the fish rate a 6 out of 10.

But the style points just aren’t there.

    Catching fish = good
Catching fish + looking awesome = even better

Don’t think my old Crestliner is going to give me many style points…but its probably the last boat I can afford to buy…

These are pictures from 11-22-2012 and 12-03-2012 from the Rice Lake area so if there’s open water it’s never to late to fall bass fish! the water temps were 41deg in nov. & 40deg in dec. I caught 9 fish on the 3rd the biggest was 3lb plus the one in the rain suit.
