When the weather man calls for cool calm days in July, I break out the Aggression tubes and head for deep weed lines for some fun LMB/SMB action. Match a VMC 1/8th oz DTJ Tube Jig with a 4″ Trigger X Aggression Tube Jig and you have a recipe for some fun bass action.
We were strictly fishing the Goby color due to high sky’s and lots of bait fish in this body of water. We caught a bunch of different sizes of bass from some small 6″ fish all the way to some nice 16″ fish. Not being much of a bass fisherman with these tubes on weedlines it is fairly straight forward. Casting to weed edge, allow to sink to bottom and slowly twitch and reel tube back to the boat. The fall of the tube is what drives these bass crazy, that is when I found the most violent strikes.
Next time your out on your favorite lake and you have calm conditions, head to a weedline and begin casting tube jigs, you will be surprised on what you will catch.
