When I get in bass mode while the crappies spawn I like to fish frogs. Over the years I have found a couple colors that I favor for dropping into holes in the slop and just letting them twitch. A natural looking from is always a good one for me.

Here is a frog I cooked up using a new mold.

The frog is a 3″ and is made from floating plastic. Fished on a wide gap hook, it ever so slowly will sink down in the water column but when a tretrieve is started those paddle legs sure stir up the water.

A couple other more natural colors…

If I have pike in the area pestering the natural looking frogs, I’ll often hanging one similar to this color pattern on the hook.

The red/black just seems to make a pike wild-mad.

    Good looking colors, Tom!

I’m looking forward to seeing those baits again in photos, but sticking out of big LMB’s mouths!
