Going down there in early March…I have never fished there before. If anyone has any tips I would appreciate the heads up. I am looking forward for a chance at a decent Striper along with the Large and Smallmouth… 
Fished there a couple years ago. Theres a really good sauger bite that goes on up by the dam and smallies and stripers are there too.I hired a guide and we went down river from the dam throwing carolina rigs but just caught small smallies.We went up by the dam throwing white spinner baits and I caught a 6# small mouth and some nice strippers in the eddies of the dam.They catch lots of smallies drifting from the dam down with shiners and spit shot and hook.Theres a nice launch right below the bridge down from the dam and I think there was camping there to.The wife and I went the next day and fished the dam catching lots of strippers from 2 to 5#s and they were a blast in the current as was the smallies.Hope I helped some.I suggest getting a guide then going yourself as the dam area can be trickie as it is shallow in areas.
