I just got back from visiting the “outlaws” in North Carolina and snuck in a day of fishing for Stripers on Lake Nottely in northern Georgia. I have been dreaming of catching one of these fish for years, nothing huge but I thought I would share.

I’ve made a couple trips to Arkansas for stripers and had my hopes dashed and my butt kicked each time. I’d be thrilled to catch one like you’re holding.

    Thanks for the pics.

They sure fight! I was amazed the tussle a fish the size of your can put up, i would do it again! I think it would be fin to fish the cumberland with the guide doug stange(in fish TV) uses, live baiting them would be a blast IMO

Some of the toughest fish in freshwater for sure. It was fun watching that second fish peel 100′ of 15# flouro off of the line counter…Twice! I would definately recomend fishing with Josh Garrison http://www.fishgarrison.com/fishgarrison/Home_Port.html
He’s tuned in to these fish and an interesting guy to boot.

Josh fishes the cumberland river too. They work big gizzard shad behind planer boards in and out of the big brush piles for monsters. He said that they have hooked some potential world records but in his words the fish have “a distinct mechanical advantage”. He said Fred McClintoc is the man there for sure.
